Carl's Pond Winery- Located in Gig Harbor, Washington. We produce wine from Washington State grapes from the Yakima Valley AVA and specifically the Rattlesnake Hills AVA. Our desire is to make wines that best express the varietal characteristics of the specific grape with minimal intervention.
This means "great wine is made in the vineyard" if the grapes are good our job is to guide the natural degradation of the fruit to evolve into a gracefully aged wine. Our growers hand pick the fruit, we do (or oversee) the crush. We ferment the juice, press the finished wine from the skins. We oak age most of our reds for a minimum of two years, before bottling and bottle age for as long as needed for optimum drinkability.
In memory of Uncle Carl. Though blinded by a mining accident in Alaska, he returned to Gig Harbor, built a house and dredged a trout pond. It is the future site of our winery and tasting room.

Remarkable in integrity and passion for tradition, we hope Uncle Carl's character is exemplified in our wines.
