Carl's Pond Winery

Minimalist Outdoor Setting
Wine Barrels

Carl’s Pond Winery is located in Gig Harbor, Washington. We craft our wines using grapes sourced from the Yakima Valley AVA, Wahluke Slope AVA, Walla Walla AVA, Snipes Mountain AVA, and Rattlesnake Hills AVA. Our goal is to create wines that truly showcase each grape variety’s natural character, using a minimal-intervention approach.

We believe that great wine is made in the vineyard. When the fruit is exceptional, our role is simply to guide its natural transformation into a beautifully aged wine. Our growers hand-pick the grapes, then oversee every step at the winery - from de-stemming and crushing to fermentation and pressing. Most of our red wines are aged in oak for a minimum of two years, then bottled and allowed to mature until they reach their peak expression and drinkability.

In memory of Uncle Carl. After losing his sight in a mining accident in Alaska, he returned to Gig Harbor, where he built a home and hand-dug a trout pond—the future site of our winery and tasting room.

Uncle Carl was a man of remarkable integrity and a deep respect for tradition. We strive to honor his spirit in every bottle, hoping his character lives on through our wines.
